Two of today’s brightest young actresses in Hollywood seem to have taken a liking to goth-inspired looks. It is quite refreshing since it is not often that we see women wearing this type of outfits, especially during the warm summer months.

Both Shailene Woodley and Lily Collins sported all-black ensembles that consisted of a cropped top and midi skirt at a couple of promotional events — Shailene for her new movie, ‘The Spectacular Now’, and Lily for her new ‘Seventeen’ magazine cover. Shailene, 21, wore a Proenza Schouler Resort 2014 outfit, while Lily, 24, went for a Céline Pre-Fall 2013 leather skirt.

Needless to say, both these young actresses looked utterly gorgeous. However, don’t you think they would have looked even better in more uplifting and colorful hues?

Who do you think wore the all-black outfit better? In my opinion, Shailene’s turtleneck top lost her some points as the outfit ended up looking rather matronly.

The following are some suggestions for black midi skirts that are similar to what Shailene and Lily wore. Let us know which one you like better.
