28-year-old Indian beauty Freida Pinto led the lighting ceremony of the Empire State Building in New York as her way of showing her support for Plan USA’s “Because I am a Girl” global campaign. In accordance with UNICEF’s second annual International Day of the Girl Child, the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ actress partook in the event as she pushed her advocacy to provide 66 million out-of-school girls with an education.

Freida not only lit up the Empire State Building, but she also lit up the very ground she walked on (figuratively and literally) in a metallic, embossed Burberry Prorsum skirt. The actress was a mix of chic sophistication and dead-on business in her green pencil skirt, which she styled with a three-quarters-sleeved white blouse and a pair of pointed metal-toe-capped suede heels with studs.

The embossed pencil skirt from Burberry Prorsum is stunning, but can look quite heavy, especially if worn by not-so-leggy ladies. It’s pretty crucial to work the other elements of your outfit around such skirt, and we’re glad that Freida chose an airy top and simple accessories to match it. We’re just not very sold on her shoes, however, as the whole studs-and-suede thing seemed to have isolated itself from the rest of the outfit.

This gorgeous metallic skirt is available at Nordstrom.
