Skirts that puff out thanks to layers of pleats or tulle have always been a staple for little girls. Which self-respecting 8-year old hasn’t conjured up images of wearing princess-like skirts? And I guess most of us ladies haven’t outgrown this whimsy.

But there’s a limit to wearing too much puffy skirts, isn’t there? I mean, you don’t want to end up looking like you just filched your skirt from your 8-year old niece’s closet. Puffy skirts are cute and nice to incorporate in the wardrobe but it has to be styled nicely and in a more “grown up” manner so it wouldn’t look too juvenile.

It’s a great thing we have awesome style bloggers to look up to. Heed these bloggers’ fashion advice:

1. Featuring Sheree from It’s Not That Deep

This ensemble is playful and tasteful. The puffy bubble skirt contrasted well with Sheree’s printed blazer. A chic blazer like this is what you need to give puffy skirt ensembles a more polished look.

2. Featuring Nife from Skinny Hipster

This lovely girl is not afraid to mix solid colors. Purple and green are unusual together, which is why this outfit looks so striking. Her full skirt is attention grabbing but she made this look more interesting by adding denim. Love its retro vibe!

3. Featuring Olivia from Olivia Taylor

Olivia pairs up her layered tulle skirt with a cute star-print pullover. The outfit is an eclectic mix of whimsical, preppy and elegant. The collared top and the hat took care of the preppy while her shoes took care of the elegant.

4. Featuring Jennifer from Art In Our Blood

This outfit just has the right level of cuteness. It doesn’t look over the top, thanks to the incorporation of the statement white tee. But it is never lacking in style. I just can’t help but adore that hat!

These are just some of the ways to style up your puffy skirt. Now make sure you have one or two gorgeous skirt to flaunt this spring season. Here are some options for you:
